  • You'll need a few of these
  • Location/type of places I fish: Utah - the provo, the weber, the Uintahs
  • A good place to store a line - I prefer to use it for lines i'm not actively fishing. Like a back up line or to store say a czech nymphing line.

  • Great line holder

  • These are a great way to store your line. So long as you don't have many of them, that is. I've used this size, a size up, and a size smaller, and actually find the smaller size better for me as I typically have multiple lines rigged up. But for a couple of rigged lines, these work very well.

  • very handy accessory

  • On the river, I hardly use these spools as I use another method to coil\stow my line when the rod is collapsed.

But these spools do exactly what theyre supposed to.
I appreciate the larger diameter of these in comparison to some other blue spools out there. It makes it very easy to coil up the line as well as uncoil it without getting tangles. It also reduces the memory a tad with the larger diameter.

I wish the ID/OD of these spools was a soft material so as to not having to worry about them marking up a rod or foam grip if pushed down too hard or rattling around in a car.

I will say though, I feel that these spools are a little overpriced compared to some other options out there which will remain nameless. For 10$ I feel like I should get 2 for the 2 bits of plastic and 1 bit of higher density pool noodle type foam that each of these are made of.

  • Great product and easy to use
  • Location/type of places I fish: All types of waters in Utah.
  • Since the first time I fished tenakra I have wanted a easy way to store and keep neat until the next fishing trip. I have tried many different products but after receiving my line holder from Tenkara USA, I knew it was going to be the one. It actually can hold more then one level line leader as long as you can keep track of which tag goes where. Also it fits down the rod and rest on the handle for easy storage while walking through thick brush or driving to a different section of the river. I recommend this product to anyone who wants a simple and effective way to store their tenkara line in between trips.

  • A Tenkara Must Have!
  • Location/type of places I fish: Pennsylvania Wild and Native Trout!
  • Line holders are a must have for any tenkara angler. This allows you to quickly tear down and move to a new location. This also allows you to pre-rig your fly to your line the night before. It makes life easy and helps you stay organized.
