Picky Popcorn Trout

From my 'year of experience' I've really noticed how important a delicate presentation is when casting dry flies to rising trout. I've had them rising in front of me, ignoring my flies, until I've slowed myself down and made a perfect, delicate cast..where the fly really lands a real bug...and immediately BANG there is a take.

This has happened so many times that now I try to remind myself to really slow down when casting dry flies...especially when I know the fish really are right there...and are rising.

I'll also note that those perfect presentations and takes have not always been about matching the hatch.
