I hope that a related topic is OK here.

Has everybody here seen the video about Gyeonji angling that Tenkara USA shared (thanks!) a couple of weeks ago on the Facebook page? It really stirred my imagination. Here's the link if you haven't watched it yet...

I was so intrigued by this that I decided to build my own version of the rod...

I've been out with it a couple of times and managed to connect with a few different species. It was pretty entertaining. I really enjoyed the very simple gear...

The Gyeonji bait or artificial is generally worked downstream. I had the easiest time with a jig + waxworm (sorry :oops: ) in combination with a slip bobber. Next time I go I want to try a casting bubble in combination with weighted nymphs.

I'm working on a couple more versions of the rod, including something more attractive with a cork handle. I'll try to post more pictures if I can get out fishing again.
