Anyone use a rod, such as an Amago for euro-nymphing?

Hmm, I'm not sure.

I'm about to use mine at the Colorado River in Marble Canyon. I've set up 8 - 9 - 10m floating lines made from floating running line to use for dead drift nymphing.

I also will use a #4 level line for the same thing.

I really like the Amago, it's a nice rod, now I can't wait to bend it on some big river rainbows.

I use the Hane as my go to euro nymph rod, Remember to try to keep the length of the line short so you can tight line to your heavy nymphs, I would keep line and tippet a little shorter than your rod . Line weight does not really matter as the weight of the fly's is getting lobbed up stream. Its a deadly method.

Take a look at the following videos (I believe he uses the Amago):

Czech Nymphing with Tenkara on the Green River

Czech nymphing with Tenkara on the Madison River

I've used the Amago on the San Juan River in NM, but used a Dry/Dropper set up.
