Kanto and Beyond

Postby Ahnkochee » Thu Nov 01, 2018 6:26 am

As some of you may know I was born and raised in Japan until age 7 before my family moved to Hawai'i due to my dad's job transfer. I have not returned there for 52 years but will be going back sometime next year. I want to visit places I knew as a child. If possible I would like recommendations to stream to fish. I will be visiting the following Ken (provinces): Saitama, Tochigi, Ibaraki, Chiba, Tokyo, and maybe Kanagawa, and Gunma. Your suggestions are appreciated. thank you!

Hi Ahnkochee.

I can not help directly as I have never been to Japan. But you might try contacting Keiichi Okushi , he lives in Ibaraki, and I am sure he could offer some good advice for there and other places as well.

You can probably get a response via the "inquiries" link on his website at tenkaraya.

Or try contacting Toshiro Todoroki at his blog - kebariandfly. I don't recall what Ken he lives in. He is very personable guy and always willing to help.

Worth a try, I think.

And there are a few others who read this forum, who have been to Japan, who may have direct advice, or contacts in Japan that could help.

Good luck.
