Tenkara Africa Welcome

Postby bwtcoetzee » Fri Oct 08, 2010 2:29 am

Hi there!

New to Tenkara and based in Stellenbosch, South Africa - which has some spectacular smallstreams... Any other African Tenkara anglers out there to share experiences?

I'm not in Africa, but thought I'd welcome you anyway, so a warm welcome to you from Denmark :)

Hey Bernard! Welcome from Los Angeles (La Crescenta, CA) to one of the best fly fishing sites on the web, in my humble opinion of course. ;) Glad to see a fellow tenkara angler from South Africa. You could be the start of something great over there. I'll look forward to some postings from your neck of the world.

My Tenkara Rods:
13' Ayu, 12' Yamame, 11' with a conversion handle, and an Ito.

My Wife's Tenkara Rods:
12' Ebisu and 13.5' Amago, 12' Iwana with a conversion handle, and an Ito.

Might as well say Hello from Colorado! Hope you'll have fun with your Tenkara. Will you be fishing for trout or do you have any other local native species you will be going after? By the way, I do enjoy your wines!

Welcome from Brazil!
I began tenkara fishing about 10 months now...
Here with almost 200.000.000 habitants i know
of only other 5 tenkara fishers.
Perhaps just a few we are not alone any more
I guess that will happen on Africa.
Little by little, more and more people will get tenkara addicted!
