Tenkara tamo frames as art

If you try making a tenkara tamo net frame and it falls short of being a useful fishing tool . All is not lost. Perhaps you can turn it into a bit of tamo art. Here are a few examples.

btw - I think the box with holes in the first picture is a bamboo creel. I found an antique one on a different web page a few days ago, that one was still round, with a hinged door.

Later if you find you can make a functional tamo frame, which works well as what it is , a tool. And you’re ready for a new challenge in the tamo frame arts. You can try stepping it up several notches, or up several large rapids , and try your skills at making something similar to these:

I don't know , think you would catch more fish using one of these equipped with a net and your favorite tenkara rod, line and fly ?

I am tempted to now say , time to go fishing, but yesterday's results were poor. One fish landed in two hours. Perhaps my beginners luck with the tenkara gear is over. Or maybe I just need one of these landing nets.

Again thanks for your posts and ingenuity in finding them......and as to your ending question.....I don't think anyone NEEDS a tamo with an inlaid mother-of-pearl dragon on the handle . Might be nice to have one but the flash of the pearl in the sunlight would scare the fishies !
Real pretty though.

Well, you must realize the question was meant as a joke. ;)

Gee..and I thought my reply was slightly humorous. Another example of how the internet eats nuance. Nothing beats face to face.
