My 10$ Tamo

Postby Blackwidowman » Wed Jun 04, 2014 11:23 am

So I decided to make my own tamo. Since I had no branch I bought a 9$ alluminum folding net head on e-bay a cut a section of a broken broom handle.

Looks good to me. If it nets fish that's all that matters.

If you aint high sticking, you aint fishing hard enough.

I like it, very practical. I'm certain the fish won't know the difference.
I've seen people re-purpose used/yard sale tennis racquets as tamos too
(I think Erik from Tenkara Guides). All great ideas.

Personally, I'd still like to at least give the "find a branch and make it into a net" thing a try.
Knowing my handyman skills it would be a total disaster, but a fun project nonetheless.

DIY is awesome. Unleash your inner MacGyver!
