Forum Changes and the new website.

Postby John @ Tenkara USA » Wed Jun 04, 2014 9:33 pm

Hi Everyone. We just wanted to let you know that along with updating the website, we'll also be making some changes to the look of the forum to match. In the meantime, some things may look a little awkward. Please be patient with us while we try to provide something better. Thank you as always for participating on the forum.

WOW! How about the new forum...right?

Looks good guys! Nice and bold, just like the rest of the site.

I'm liking it a lot, too. It seems easier to post, but that's probably just because I like big letters and bright colors. :) Please let us know if you have any trouble posting.

Hey, glad you guys like it. Love the clapping gif (?)...
It is nicer to use, should be good on mobile too. Finally got it done...Thanks for hanging in there you all and continue to ask for the improvements and continuing to use it despite how it looked.

Looks good.

As a FYI I'm seeing some rendering issues when the dynamic width sizing pushes some of the forum menu links to a second line. The white font on the off-white background makes finding the links difficult to see/use. Also note the 'Advanced Search' link alignment is off as well. The attached screenshot is using Chrome.

Also the login page is really messed up in IE 9--granted most people won't be using IE 9 but wanted to point it out. Isn't cross-browser support fun?

Agree with the green comment - maybe some additional coloring would be a nice change. Also, Chrome seems to be the only browser that accurately renders the page for me - Internet Explorer 9 (at work, dontcha know...) really messes up alignments, and completely hides other aspects of the pages.

That said, I know from experience how bleedin' hard it is to design and build a good looking, but still easily navigated web site, and you're doing fine on that score!

Thanks for the feedback, guys. Our web people will be trying to get those issues fixed. Hope it works out soon and isn't too much of a deterrent from participating on the forum.

FYI - I noticed that the alignment issues only appear when logged in as a member.

The "Advanced Search" and "View Active Topics" are the most obvious miscreants.
