Sato

Postby tsegelke » Sun Apr 06, 2014 6:42 pm

I put the Sato to it's first test today. I loved it. The rod had planty of backbone to play a large fish is fast water, and a soft enough action to protect the 6x tippet.

The more I play with this rod, the more I like it.

Any thoughts on how this rod feels in hand? Curious as now that I have the Rhodo and it is super well balanced I'm curious if the Sato follow suit.

Hope Trevor posts a picture... it looked pretty chunky. Curled around the bottom of the net pretty nicely.

We have a nickname for that trout. Our fun little secret.

Do you think the Sato will handle as large a fish as the Ito? Love my Rhodo with a #3 line. What line do you guys recommend for the Sato?

yeah, posting is a problem. i've sent an email to the good folks who run this here joint re: da issue.

if it helps, i was right there, and the sato, trevor, and the fish all performed like champions.
i can say with all honesty that it was an 18" fish. trev finessed it out of a strong current after nearly going down stream a la paul maclean. i'll post a pic as soon as i can, too.
be excellent to one another.

Three of my own pictures of a large trout caught on my Sato. At least 20". Did not measure but it is hands-down the largest trout I have landed. Spanned my chest if I would have held right over the middle. Twice as big as the net would allow. I need a bigger net for sure.

These were taken this weekend on opening day for trout.
