Are There Improvements in the Pipeline for the Amago?

Postby GregM » Wed Feb 06, 2013 9:03 pm

Just wondering if anyone can share some insight on whether or not a new Amago is in the works?

There were changes made to the Amago less than a year ago. I sold my old one and bought the updated one.

No changes planned for the Amago.

Tom alluded to it already, but to be more specific, the Amago was updated with a new handle last year.

I was very pleased with the new handle. The balance of the Amago, and comfort over a long day of fishing, was improved dramatically over the old handle.

For me, the Amago remains a bit of a "necessary evil". For a Tenkara rod, it is heavy, and will still tire your arm out quick if you're not used to casting it all day.

But it handles big fish in big water with big (and heavy) flies.

I've tried a lot of different rods for those purposes. For what the Amago does, it remains one of my favorites.
