Tenkara in ARIZONA

Going fishing? Take a tenkara angler :) Or take a western fly-angler, show them tenkara fly-fishing, and brag about how you caught 5x more fish than they did (if they didn't take your tenkara rod from you that is).

Tenkara in ARIZONA

Postby azwaterman » Fri Dec 13, 2013 7:04 am

I've been fly fishing with a reel for the last five years. I want to move away from that style and fish with Tenkara Rods. I think my wife and daughters would pick it up a lot easier.
Does anyone use a Tenkara Rod in Arizona??? I would love to learn and see it up close!

Thanks,

Eric

Hi Eric I have two tenkara rods. I have only had a chance to fish urban lakes in Phoenix so far. But it's blast. What part of az do you live in?

No. I've never used one before. I was hoping to try one before I bought one for myself. What are the Urban Lakes do you fish?

Hey Brad,

Sounds like a good idea. Papago park is close and I've always wanted to fish that lake. Do you have any time during the holidays?

Thanks,

Eric

Hi Eric Papago sounds good. I think you will like it. Tenkara is an good way to fly fish and it keeps it simple. We can always use more in the sport. I going to send you a PM with my ph.# it will be easier to make the meeting over the phone. Brad

And that's how tenkara spreads.
