Bass fishing

The Rhodo would be great for bluegill and sunfish, but not for larger bass. If you're looking for a bass rod, I'd suggest the Yamame. It's got much more backbone and is longer to keep your back casts off the water when you're sitting lower to the water in a canoe.

The Yamame is my first choice for bass:

Oh, and for flies, I pretty much just use a woolly bugger for bass. Works 99% of the time.

These flies have worked in the Mississippi and can be cast on a Yamame.
