New tenkara rod

New tenkara rod

Postby Philip_Roode » Wed Mar 27, 2013 5:08 pm

Hi I just bought a new Iwana which I am anxious to use as soon as I can get the time together to get out.

It came with a plastic wrap on the handle. Is that wrap intended to be left on to protect the cork or removed?

What do most people do?

Thanks for any input.

The plastic comes off. It's just to protect the rod until it reaches you. You then need to really feel the rod.

Thanks for the advice. Hope to use it real soon but right now a lot of other life stuff is getting in the way.

I got my Iwana a couple weeks ago and love it. You are going to have fun.

Got a 12' Iwana a few weeks back, along with the 9'3" handle. My season starts on April 1st, and then it's down to the weather, hopefully no more floods. Can't wait. Until then it's back to the tying vise.
