Tonto Creek Tenkara

Postby b_in_az » Wed Jun 09, 2010 3:28 pm

Took my 12' Iwana up to an area called Bear Flat on Tonto Creek last week. I had my wife and kids with me, so it was more of a family outing than a fishing trip, but I managed to fish for about an hour. I landed 12 rainbows, a few stream born (6-7") the rest 10-12" stockers. Most on the Ishigaki with a black body and grizzly or brown hackle size 14, and a few on the killer bug. The takes were easy to feel with tenkara as I didn't use an indicator. Those trout went nuts for the Ishigaki. It was so much fun. Going back next week for two days of fishing and I'll take some pics this time.
