Fish 4 free in PA and Dad.

Postby sholgate » Mon Jun 07, 2010 7:21 am

I took my father fly fishing with 2 Tenkara Rods and a mess of Prince Johns to a small stream near my parent's house. He has never fly fished before. In about 3 hours we landed about 45 trout. Some of each species (the trifecta as we call it in these parts).

We landed many over 15". I landed one hold-over brown just under 18" on my Iwana.

Pictures to follow.

I never would have believe that many fish remained in a ATW stream in PA, especially in the first weekend of JUNE! And if you knew the "trout culture" of that area, you would be surprised too.

But yea, I think a Tenkara Rod will be ordered for father's day. :)

Steve,

Days like yours make me wish that I knew who my dad is/was?

I wish your dad a very happy Father's day!

Sounds like you and your dad had a good time. Times like that will be remembered for a long time.
