Traditional Tenkara Line
HIGH WIND
CANADA AND UK ONLY
Price: $19.95 $13.00
Description:

Only available in Canada and UK warehouses, limited quantity left

Tenkara USA's High-wind traditional tenkara lines have been developed with a heavier taper for cutting against wind. These lines are very supple for minimized drag and memory. They do not tangle back when pulled from a snag, are very visible and quick to setup. The high-wind lines are very easy to cast, but difficult to keep off the water (e.g. after being cast they will come back toward the tip of the rod). Good for use in windy days and with larger flies.

Tenkara lines come with a transition loop on the thicker end, which will be girth-hitched to the tip of the tenkara rod, and an extender at the thinner end to extend the life of the line and prevent accidental clipping.
The line comes in a package containing instructions and a spool to store your line.

Tenkara USA lines are hand-woven by expert line-makers in the United States.

Length: 10ft. 6in or 13ft

  • Good solid line!
  • Location/type of places I fish: San Francisco Bay Area / Anywhere cold and clear
  • This line is a bit heavy and sags under a drift, but is awesome for shortline high-sticking. Soft Spectra braid will have you fishing without having to stretch your line, and you'll be able to tell whether that was a rock or a fish that just bumped your fly!

  • eh...
  • This is the first Tenkara line I used and at first I liked it a lot. However after using some level lines and the newer Tenkara USA traditional line I have to say I am not a fan of this line. The line constantly sags and hits the water before the fly, which is ok with heavy nymphs but not what I want with dry flies or kebaris. Even in wind I don't see an advantage to this line.
