Sup guys.. I was interested in planning 1-3 day backpacking trips in catskills/adirondacks... Any suggestions of specific trails with leantos near some good fishing spots.... I've been to Siamese ponds, and trekked around northville placid trail near long lake last year... The hiking was good but we found are stomachs empty due to fish being on vacation...ha ha

If anyone has info it would b greatly appreciated..

Maps and guidebooks would b great

Thanks

An obvious newb .....

Have you navigated the DEC web site? They have lots of information concerning outdoors NY, even helpful individuals whilling to answer all your questions, and where to obtain the trail maps you might be looking for.

The Catskill Region map by Venture Out Maps is very nice - showing trails, public fishing access (both public water or state acquired rights to fish on privately owned land), state owned lands, vertical contour lines, even fly shops and gas stations! The version in the link is described as Catskill Park and Upper Delaware Drainage, so it might be a different than the older version I have. Great map for the price. http://www.campmor.com/venture-out-maps ... -map.shtml

They were going to do one of the Adirodacks, too, but I haven't seen it.
