I will give a demonstration of making a furled knotted taper line in the Summit (Day 1, 11:00 - 12:30), where I will show how to manually furl lines and show a motorized furling device that I made.

If there is anyone who would like to make your own furled taper line, please bring fluorocarbon monofilament of #1.5, #2, and #2.5.

If we have enough time, I would like to help you make your own taper line with that device.

I recommend the following structure:
Top section: Three 4 feet long #1.5 monfilaments
Second section : Three 4 feet long #2 monofilaments
Third and succeeding section: Three 4 feet #2.5 monofilaments

Of course, the structure is not limited to the above.

Is the "top section" at the tippet-end or the butt-end of the line?

Sorry confusing you.
The top section is the tippet end.

I wish I could be there to see. Do you have the conversions from the # sizes of tenkara lines into millimeters or inches? thanks

Hi Eddie, looking forward meeting you. I have been using your method for my hand-furled lines.

Awesome thank you.

Have you tried using threads much? If so, which ones do you recommend?

For those not attending I hope such demonstrations are being filmed.

Japanese sizes and corresponding tippet sizes are:
Size-----Diameter-----------Tippet size-------Diameter
#1.5----0.205mm--------------3X----------0.008inch = 0.20mm
#2------0.235mm--------------2X----------0.009inch = 0.23mm
#2.5----0.260mm --------------1X----------0.010inch = 0.25mm
