TJ, I love your posts and feel that you are part of the reason this forum is so great. But this post is pretty much just showing a fish suffering. The fish slams into the side of the boat and then bleeds all over the boat. Not "too funny". Tenkara is simple, relaxing, and very respectful of fish. That's why I like it. Dax
Yes, I kind of see that now but did not dawn on me at the time of post. Sorry if this was insensitive if you took it that way.
My posting of this video was my amazement that a fish sailed through the air like it did almost hitting the fisherman and landing in the boat, obviously not that the fish was flopping around in the boat probably going to die. Hopefully my too funny comment did not make it seem I like that the fish was going to die.
In all aspects of live, there is life and death, as every breathing sole will go through. Heck, I would bet almost every person here eats meat of some kind from animals bred to be slaughtered and killed and then eaten. Maybe you are a vegetarian and eat no processed meats at all so for all I know you are not lumped into the majority.
If I was an animal that others eat, I would be much happier going out on my own terms versus being bred to slaughter.
Accidents happen and animals along with humans die and is just part of this wheel we call life. It is sad I suppose this happened on this video but it was a act of nature.
I would also bet many hear have caught fish before they either eat which means they caught a fish and killed it or a hook went deeper than hoped and the fish died. I see that no better than a fish jumping from an open water direct into a boat with still an inkling of chance they flop themselves right back out of that same boat. This fish had a fighting chance compared to the millions of cows, chickens, turkeys, you name it that many of us kill and eat on a daily basis.
Anyway, just my opinion is all and again, sorry I did not put 2 and 2 together that this fish just leaped to its death.
As a side note, I am the kind of person that feels bad if a fish I catch dies because a hook issue and the kind of person that separates a tortured mouse from one of my cats mouths at 2AM in the morning and frees it outside. Not the kind of person that likes to see things tortured.
