Does anyone have any experience with the Kodiak? I am contemplating getting one of these and would like to hear some thoughts on this pretty slick little boat...

I have never used one, but I have always wanted to. The folks at Murrays Fly Shop used to rent them. They are located in Virginia. I bet you could ask them. I looked on their website, and I didn't see the boats. They might have an opinion to give.

Here is the link:

Let me know if you end up getting one. I'd love to hear a report.

camelcarlson, I don't have any experience with the boat. But If you get one I'd love to hear about it. The Tenkara rod works very well with a man powered boat. Looks like a fun way to get around and catch some fish. I'd like to try one too. A little expensive but looks tough, get what you pay for though.

Both my brother and I have owned them for over 2 years now. Love 'em! We initially bought them while in MT (at the factory) and used them on both the Ruby and Yellowstone Rivers. Closer to home, I've drifted several NorCal rivers in addition to using it for some close-to-home ponds and lakes. Can't say enough good things -- rugged, portable, flexible -- everything I wanted. Plus, it's just downright cool when you hit skinny water to just stand up and walk to the next good spot.

And hey, the guys in the shop are super friendly and customer service oriented.

John

Launch ready on the Yellowstone:

I love mine. Been using it for a few years. I can pack for several days, an overnighter with my dog on the back, stand up in the calmer waters or in a lake, and it works perfect for Tenkara.

I usually use it on the Green River. I'll kick myself into a back eddie and just hold and pick up all the fish feeding in the film. Or, I'll hit the pockets on the side.

Excellent boat.

You're more than welcome to contact me if you have any questions about the WM. My contact info is on the Tenkara Guides website.
