hmmm, me think anything you hold like that by the lip will make their jaw look like it won't ever extend past the eye  . A spotted bass is what I suspect. But seriously, I dig the pics. Oh would I love to throw some of my jig flies in them cliff drop-offs. Bam! Water there always that murky though?

I've been taking pics of this tree for years. Kind of shows water clarity a little. Or lack of clarity.

Horn the last few years have been extemely wet. There's three lakes that empty into the river here. And it has been very murky. If you get out of the current into the creeks or close to certain bends it's clear to about eight feet. But I wanted to share these pics Of the rock bluffs. They are so nice to behold while getting a little exercise and catching some fish too.

It would be nice to show you all this, some of my favorite fishing destinations in person.

Thank you adventureR, that's very nice of you. Someday, you and I will need to fish together. All so nice. I dig em all. Canoeing and kayaking, love em both. Here are some images from my home river down in Texas and your fishing water reminds me of......

I'm planning a trip back sometime in the spring with a few buddies. I'll be sure to do a TR with my Yamame though I seriously doubt that Tenkara will be the tackle of choice for our targeted quarry. I did bring my Iwana II last time I was there and did try it for the very first time in the last few minutes before heading back to the airport for the trip back home.

I caught this little guy, my very first tenkara fish. I used a damsel imitation I tied the night before after finding a damsel nymph along the shore.

Someday, Jeremy, someday.

it may be a spotted bass, but i think it is a largemouth. The mouth can become smaller in river largemouths to make it more streamlined.

The only way to tell would be if I paid attention to the dorsal fin. At the time when I catch a nice fish it doesn't matter. I just ohh and ahh some, maybe a little drool. I'm glad I put the pic up now for the controversy. :D Thanks Loften.

I agree Horn, someday... That Texas river looks just right for some bass fishing, or a nice float. I've always been a sucker for rocks, water and trees. We have been blessed with some great places to adventure. Thanks for the cool day dream pics of warmer seasons.

I went ahead and placed an order for the Tenkara USA Amago. I am really looking foward to getting it and practice casting.

AdventureR you have a great looking spot. I could spend hours just taking in the sites and not even get any fishing done.

Scorp I think the Amago will please you to say the least. If it's anything like the rods I've tried. I remember last year getting my rod delivered taking it out and casting in the back yard. Being amazed at how intuitive & accurate the cast was. Can't wait to hear how that first fish goes.

The best part about the scenery is it's only about four miles from my house.

Scorpion, I also think you will be very happy with the Amago mine will handle large fish and the extra 18" will help in casting when setting in your yak.
