Found the perfect pack for carrying your tenkara gear to and on a stream that you have to hike in to. Been using it for awhile and it works so well for me that I thought I should spread the word.

It is a Fusion F4 tenor ukulele gig bag. Comes in vivid colors as well as black and grey.

Has a couple of straps that turn it into a small backpack, leaving both hands free for bush whacking. Well designed and well made with tough zippers.
I can get five tenkara ( the Ito fits ) and tenago rods in it with a small chest pack and a poncho . The sleek exterior pockets hold my Kuwata wallet and a spare fly box as well as more lines than you'll ever need. Get to the stream, select what you need for the conditions, and there rest is on your back out of the way.
Works so well that it has most of my tenkara gear in it all the time. It doesn't have any annoying compartments designed by someone who thinks they know where you should put your stuff, I put an old hand towel between the rods and anything else in the main compartment. No noise and ample protection.
Don't leave home without it.

Awesome idea! I bought a hard case for my uke and I have an empty tenor gig bag sitting in the corner. I am going to see if all my tenkara gear will fit right now.

Well it's not all of my gear - but it's all of my rods (5 tenkara and a tanago), plus small waist pack, water bottle holster, lanyard and lines. Pretty nifty idea. Plus it kind of gives me that gangster feel - you know like when they have the tommy gun in a violin case.

Cool, isn't it.
I leave the rod tubes home.
Tubes were employed when rods had long sections. Rod bags were used to keep the rod guides from scratching a rod's other sections. Two things which aren't relevant to tenkara/tanago.
The Fusion bags are so sleek I often slip right through foliage without getting hungup.

Neat idea. I wonder how many folks will show up at the Summit with Uke bags... lol

I'm not sure if it would fit the Ito or not - that would require finding a measuring tape - far too much work. :D

But there are baritone ukuleles too and if a tenor bag doesn't do it then a baritone might.

My son said that I should put a Tenkara patch on it - I know I've got one or two around, I just have to dig them up and then it's going on.
