...Put the tenkara ideogram (テンカラ) on youtube and the result was dozens of videos.
This one down here shows how tenkara is still practiced in moutains streams (very narow and rocky) and give us a fair idea about how everything has begun!

テンカラ entered in a search can yield some strange finds. Not to mention the translater making utter nonsense. That link will send you to a page where they have placed a small modified reel onto a Tenkara rod. I've found alot of interseting things.

Hope I don't give anyone bad ideas.

Sorry for some reason the link won't connect to it.
Here's the other pics though.

Interesting reading on the other forum knocking Tenkara. I bet they would have alot to say about an improvized reel too. Especially considering the price of a good reel these days.
They glued or melted a small handle onto the line spool, thought it was worth sharing.

A reel? Somebody call the tenkara police! Actually pretty interesting - I have an extra, inexpensive tenkara rod, maybe just maybe...It would be nice for fishing the long line...totally unnecessary I know, but still a fun winter project.

What I really want to know is does it have a drag setting?

Use your thumb for drag.
