The thread about "The Tenkara Whirrrrr," got into tuning tenkara rods to possibly play songs. So just for fun I started wondering what songs might be good tenkara songs. Anyway, here's my list:

1. Swanee (Suwanee) River (Stephen Foster) <--- (GregM's suggestion)
2. Down by the Riverside (trad. gospel)
3. Cool Cool Water (Beach Boys)
4. Watch the River Flow (Dylan)
5. Wish I was a Fisherman (Waterboys)

Possible, but maybe not:
Surfin' USA (Beach Boys) ?
Yellow Submarine (The Beatles) ??

Shakuhachi master Riley Lee performs San'an
I enjoy the sounds of nature over any music. But if I had to listen to music while fishing the above selection would be nice. The Whirrring noise would be complimented by the Bamboo Flute.

I have to go with the Sanpei (or Sampei) Tenkara Boy theme song.

One of those tunes you can't get out of your head.

I especially like to turn it on loud on the iPad and do the Sanpei style walk around the house as the wife looks at me like I am a dork. Just make sure to mimic the walking and dancing at 2:40 mark. I say this be a prerequisite for entry into the Tenkara USA 2012 Summit in Utah. hehehe
