Heres a quick and easy way to put a leash on a TenkaraUSA tamo. I use old fly line but braided nylon works well too ( try 45# squidding line).
Assuming you'll use your left hand to grab your net from your wading belt , do this: take a one foot length of fly line and wrap it around the left side of the hoop where it joins the handle and tie an overhand knot. Take the two ends and wrap it around the handle ( makes a right angle with the previous loop) and tie two overhand knots . You'll end up with two tags sticking out at a right angle to the handle. Take the two tags and tie them together into a surgeon's knot so that you'll have a loop between the knots of about an inch. That is the knot on the handle and the surgeon's knot...those two knots. Zap-a-Gap the surgeon's knot and cut the tags short when dry. You'll have a short flexible loop to attach your chosen tether to that will not harm the handle's finish.
If you plan on grabbing your net with your right hand ( carrying it on your right hip) reverse the directions for starting the knot. In other words, if you use your left hand you want the loop on the right side of the handle. Right handed users...the reverse.

Chris. Thanks for info.
It would im sure reduce the weight im carrying, the net magnets are quite heavy. And i can see that it would definitely be much more out of the way. I dont particularly like the net dragging in the water as i wade. But i do like the oblong shape of mine better i think. Room for larger fish.
The net on wading staff i tried didnt work out real good for me,i tied different lengths but a little to clumsy for me.
Maybe ill get a Tamo, but not convinced i really need it and would have to see if they are in stock in Canadian warehouse yet. But they are very pretty to look at for sure.

Almost here. The production is near done, and I hope they will be in stock at the end of this month. After that I hope our production will be smoother on the tenkara nets. Sorry it's taking so long to get more in, but they do take a while to make.
