Net in hand! Gorgeous! It looks very well made, and is a great accompaniment to a Tenkara rod!

A few minor points that aren't wholly apparent from the photos and descriptions:

The photos of tamos being used on the stream on the Tenkara net page are NOT photos of this model net.

The handle of this net is cut curved, not steamed into a curve, and the angle of the net rim to the top of the handle is about 10-15 degrees, not the 45 degrees plus of Dr. I's net, or 30 degrees of Daniel's net. It still sits away from the back when tucked in a belt, but not at such a large angle as might be expected from other photos. I'm thinking this might actually be an advantage for slipping through some of the willows and alders I encounter!

The woven net is made of very fine monofilament nylon, and forms a flat-basket shape on the bottom. The net is harsher to the touch on the outside than on the inside - it feels like the weave has somehow placed the knots on the outside - nice touch.

The whole net is very light. On my gram weenie scale is registers 5.92 oz / 168 g. That's light enough that I may take it on a backpack fishing trip!

All in all, I think this will be a delight to use! Thanks, Daniel, for another great piece of Tenkara gear!

Thanks for the information Grampa! I want to order one even though I'm building one, (3rd coat of tung oil was put on tonight). I like the logo on the handle and just to own another piece of Tenkara gear would be very cool. I like the products Daniel makes available.

Just ordered another over $100 order with Daniel which includes this cool new net. Thanks for making me spend all of my $$.  This net will come in handy I am sure.

What I can say, and will detail more in the Your Tenkara Experience thread later this week when I get my pictures uploaded to my computer, is using a traditional net for this first time fisher in over 30 years with larger mesh holes did not work well for me. Somehow the trout flipped around while in there and the hook was stuck in its gums now versus in the mouth where it started. And it was a through the gums so I had to act quick and cut my tippet so I could pull the tippet out and let the trout go. Anyway, the net I have "could" have been why this happened or maybe I just set the hook on it threw the gums instead of threw the mouth. Who knows but I will be happy to get the new Tenkara net! :D

Just received my Tenkara net. And I affirm Grampa's comments. It's a sweet, rather unique-looking net. It holds beautifully along my back in a belt. Love the appearance--and the light weight. Nicely crafted.

A handsome working tool. Thanks, Daniel.

Love the nets. Id get one but i wear hip waders only so no belt. I do wear one to hold jeans up but wouldnt work to slip net into. It would be a shame to screw a eye hook into it to use my magnet i use on my net which hangs off my jeans belt loops and works so well. I just couldnt do that.

Papa, I have used the nets several times with no wading belt, just slipping it on my regular belt. It works fine enough.

I noticed Dr Ishigaki has a little clip and some type of phone chord type line on his . It seemd to clip over the rim . Any chance of geting some small attahment like that? . I would hate to drop this nice net in fast water and watch it go floating away (along with my $ lol ) .

We're procuring the net leashes right now, and are getting close to getting the right type, but do not yet have an ETA to offer them. Be careful in the meantime.
