My wife's mother lives in Nagoya (near where Dr. Ishigaki lives). She felt the quake but did not report any damage. If Dr. Ishigaki was at home I'm sure he is fine.

Reports this morning say 9,500 people are missing in a northern Japanese town. They need all the help we can offer.

Let's hope they can get the nuclear plants under control. I fear if not that this would be probably the even bigger catastrophe than what they already have to deal with. The pictures I saw yesterday were unbelievable. This will take many years of recovery. My thoughts are with those whose family members are affected or missing.

Dr. Ishigaki wrote yesterday and he's doing fine, and so is his family (his daughter lives in Hokkaido, up north, but she's fine).

Very sad news out of Japan.
I have a friend living in Japan and cannot connect with her. She is in the south and is probably fine.
Bad situation with two possible reactor meltdowns on top of the continued possibility of months of quakes, aftershocks and tsunamis in Japan's future.
I know the Japanese economy has been stressed for years and wonder if any nation can have the wealth to deal with this catastrophe. Sadly, this might be the end of Japan as we know it.
The Japanese are a resilient people and this is a great time for nations of the world to unite in helping them. I understand 50 nations already have help in transit. If you can afford it, send some cash to the Japanese relief funds set up by the Red Cross, etc., etc. The need is great.
My travels in the world have taught me one true thing........we are all the same.

My prayers go out to the people of Japan. I am glad to hear things are ok with your family Daniel. Please know that you and your family will be in my prayers for the coming days. We have a rescue team from Colorado on the way as I type this. They have a couple of trained avalanche dogs that are going as well. Once things settle down a little a group of massage therapists who have formed and ERT (Emergency Response Team) will be heading to Japan to offer their services to those who are part of the rescue efforts. If I can I will hopefully be able to part of one of the teams.

I am glad to hear that the good Dr. is ok as well as all the others. My heart goes out to those who have not been able to hear from relatives. May God bless those who are now suffering and bring the warmth of a summer sun to those in pain and give them to strength to persevere thru this time of trial and tribulation.

Oh, man. I'm so sorry to hear that. We'll pray that he is found well. There are still many people being found, hopefully he'll be okay.

Inspect to hear that too. Don't give up hope, like Daniel said. People are being found and are fine. Commuications are down or not working, so he may be okay. We'll say a prayer for him tonight.
