After an early four thirty central time departure. Stopped at Shoney’s for the breakfast bar around seven. Arrived at just after nine eastern time. Met up with TNTom next to the GSMNP in Townsend.
What a great place the park is. Meant a great deal to me to get back into the mountains. Grew up in the mountains. Warmed my heart to see them as we drove to what seemed like home. I can't wait to get back there and explore some. Didn't catch but one small fish, missed what seems like a hundred takes. Saw many fish and tons of places for fish to hide. The large boulder hid a surprise. A tiny Rainbow Trout, caught him by accident seeing as how I missed so many others. Fell down five times, caught one fish was the score. Maybe I too can join the clumsy fishing club.
But it was a beauty, the picture doesn't do it justice.
Thanks Tom for showing us around it was a great fishing trip. Great to meet up with another Tenkara enthusiast from the forum. My wife an me had alot of fun.
Namazu made it easier to get the flies out from under a thick canopy of branches and leaves. Making the Yamame a foot and a half shorter gripping the lineholder instead of the cork.
The Parks streams and rivers are exactly what Tenkara was meant to be utilized for, and it was so fun. Can't wait for the next TT gathering.
