I saw narcodog's request on another board ( one I'm very familiar with, although not a member there any longer.....don't ask!
)and I also noticed the snarky and smug replies given. I'm constantly amazed by the anti-tenkara sentiment among fellow flyfishers.
Anyway, Georgia's laws are pretty simple. One hand-held rod per angler for trout. There are a very few special regulation streams, no fly fishing only streams and as Narcodog found out and reported, the Tenkara is as legal as any other hand-held fishing rod.

If the land is owned on one side of the creek, the land owner has property rights to the mid-point of the creek. If the owner owns both sides, the land is off-limits and fishing there can get you charged with trespassing. Or a confrontation that may or may not involve your being questioned in the presence of an
armed landowner.
There's plenty of public water, however with good trout fishing in our state.
