After being inspired by the Fly Vines gear that is available out there, and finding some unused fly line (that was worn and beginning to crack) I decided to try my hand at making something similar. After a quick lesson in braiding by my wife, I was off and below are the items that I came up with...Let me know what you think!

Both pieces were braided out of what I presume to be 7wt and 5/6wt lines (neither was marked), the other items like the split rings, and the clasps were items I found in my tackle boxes or in a junk drawer here at the house...

Up next is a newer lanyard, but with actual braided loops instead of a knot that has been tied into a loop and cinched.

Thanks Jason, I really enjoyed making these, and now the fun begins with figuring out ways to improve and expand them! ;-) A tinkerers job is never done!

Those cheap conference name tags work too, and have a safety advantage with the breakaway feature. Here's a link: http://www.tenkaratippets.com/Tenkara_T ... nyard.html

Very cool tootall. The braiding sets it apart as more than just a tool holder. I have a very nice Morning Star lanyard, I like yours better. I like things hand made by fishermen or hunters, they know what works. Can't wait to see the next lanyard.
