Thank you guys for your hospitality at the Summit, we had a great time.

I made a booklet on the very basic techniques of our students of the payed clinic of the summit. But too bad, we left the booklets in our hotel room, and we could not give them to our students.

If there is anyone who would like the booklet, please let me know your e-mail address by private mail. I will send you the pdf file of the booklet. Although the booklet has only 18 pages and contains only very basics of tenkara, I think it will help beginners.

Again, tell me your e-mail address. The pdf file cannot be sent by the private mail of this site.

Eddie

I have a small stack of Eddie's booklets. I can mail hard copies to those who wish to have an original printed version. It is a very well done book that has valuable information for tenkara anglers of all experience levels.

PM me your mailing address & I will ship it to you. I only have about 20 so supply is very limited.

Thanks for your help and support during the summit Eddie.
John

Ok, its been 10 min since I posted that printed booklets are available and I already have some takers, you guys get up early in the morning :D

I am going to wait to ship until I have 10 so that way I can make fewer trips to post office.
I will let you know when they ship.

John

Eddie,

Thank you for emailing the Adobe pdf copy of " Basics of Tenkara for Beginners".

I found BTB to be what I suspected. The basics of any activity are really the Foundation of the activity. Someone who has participated in an activity for 2 or three years doesn't always know everything they think they do about basic principles. Reviewing foundation corner stones is usually time well spent. And it was. :!:

Reading through the BTB this morning, I learned new things or was reminded of things I had forgotten about. Easy to do when you don't get to go fishing every week. I recommend the book to everyone. :)

( and the delivery was quick too. Only 7 hours to arrive from Japan. I emailed Eddie a bit before 2a.m. and a few minutes after 9a.m. the pdf document was in my inbox. OK, the 14 hour time difference helped but still Eddie was very prompt sending it out. Thank you again Eddie)

btw Eddie, my cat likes to watch me fish too. But your cat goes a step further by enjoying looking at pictures of you fishing.

Well, that didn't last long.
All of the printed booklets are gone.

I will get them mailed out tomorrow.

I have just sent one.

I know from other post you had a hard time fishing tenkara. You have already got a lot of advice, but I would like to advise you the following two points:

Do not stick to one spot too long. When a fish bites the fly, the fish takes the fly at the first cast with a probability of 80-90 %. Therefore, when you cast the same spot 3-4 times, you had better fish the next spot. It usually takes me three hours to fish all through 1 km stretch.

You may want to use a dry fly, with which you can see the fish bite and can see where in the spot the fish most likely takes the fly.
